DOCUMENTARY

The Curious Nature of Quaker Hill explores how curiosity becomes a lasting legacy. Framed around the final adventure of Lowell Thomas—who sought to capture the history of civilization through artifacts and a single fireplace—the film weaves together world travel, natural history, and the distinguished residents who shaped history far beyond this small hill. From Olive Gunnison’s meticulous collecting to the grounding power of real objects in an age of digital doubt, the story celebrates how physical artifacts anchor us to truth.

A new documentary by Quaker Hill resident Eric Lake.

COMMERCIALS

The assignment? Tell the story of Helinet—a company behind some of cinema’s most unforgettable action moments. As the director, writer, and editor, I tried to shape a clear narrative from a complex world, highlighting Helinet’s many roles and the legacy of founder Alan Purwin. A promo about the people who make high-stakes work look effortless.

MARKETING

This commercial introduces a new residential product from Magic Jump, a family-run company and global leader in inflatables. As art director, writer, and editor, I focused on showing that the same care, craftsmanship, and pride behind their large-scale work lives in this smaller product. The story starts by listening to the founders—and letting their values speak for themselves.

SOCIAL MEDIA

For a kids’ product like Funormous, social media builds trust before the purchase. Seeing real families, real backyards, and real fun instantly communicates safety, quality, and joy. Social turns play into proof—and proof into confidence.

ART

I come from traditional art, where storytelling happens through images—an instinct that heavily influences how I direct.
